bcsDragon is an IT platform designed for data gathering in logistic and production processes using automatic identification solutions.

bcsDragon platform is a tool designed for mobile performing of the functions of WMS, ERP, MES systems at any place in an enterprise by means of terminals and label printers.

The use of barcodes or RFID technology in the system enables a significant minimizing of errors during data input, and the use of mobile data collectors with WLAN technology allows to gather this data at any place within enterprise premises and update it in the central system.

Applications of the bcsDragon platform:

• Logistics
  • gathering or verification of data on warehouse documents
  • labelling logistic carriers in accordance with the GS1 System
  • performing logistic (warehouse) processes using automatic identification systems (barcodes or RFID)
• Production
  • registration of the course of production process (events in production)
  • forming logistic carriers at the end of the production line (traceability)
  • linking warehouse operations with production orders

Modular structure of the bcsDragon platform enables full customization.

Flexibility of the solution enables:

• Administration - configuration module. Basic functions include:
  • setting up global parameters of the system
  • adding new users and defining their privileges
  • managing dictionaries (file of articles, file of contractors, file of label templates)
  • defining and configuring an interface as a mechanism of data exchange with external systems
  • printing commercial labels
  • reports.
• Verification - module allows to take from the system and edit the information gathered there earlier about an article, logistic carrier, and location. It enables printing of the following labels: commercial (for an article), logistic (for a carrier), address (for location). Depending on the needs, it can operate in one of two modes: with own database, or as an interface to customer system. 
   

bcsDragon can be extended by additional modules extending the functionality of the solution:

The modules of bcsDragon platform comply with the set of international logistic standards of the GS1 System, allowing to trace the movement and origin of batch of goods through all stages of production, processing and distribution.

System architecture

The bcsDragon platform was designed for operation in Client-Server architecture based on flexible MS SQL Server database. Its modules can be integrated virtually with any external system (WMS, ERP, MES).
